Area R2R Controller

The Europe Financial Controlling Uplift project at KONE is a strategic initiative designed to enhance the efficiency, quality, and scalability of financial controlling operations across Europe. The project brings together process improvements, harmonized ways of working, and specialized expertise to support business growth and evolving finance requirements.

A key element of the initiative is the establishment of Centers of Excellence, which will drive best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across Europe Financial Controlling.

We’re now looking for a Area R2R Controller to join our Europe Financial Controlling Uplift Project .

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a highly visible, Europe-wide transformation initiative and to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.

This position can be located to any KONE office in advertised countries with Finance Operations.

About the role

As an Area R2R Controller, reporting to the Area R2R CoE Lead, you will partner closely with Finance teams across the region to support a broad range of accounting and reporting activities within the Record-to-Report (R2R) process.

This role combines technical accounting expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on enabling harmonized ways of working and high-quality financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure statutory financial statements are prepared and filed on time in accordance with local requirements

• Collaborate with Finance teams and external partners on statutory compliance and reporting topics

• Ensure alignment between local GAAP and IFRS reporting, including accurate analysis of differences

• Support and coordinate external audits (statutory and group)

• Strengthen and monitor balance sheet reconciliation and internal control execution

• Provide guidance on technical accounting topics in line with IFRS

• Drive adherence to the internal controls framework and support continuous improvement initiatives

• Partner with shared services and finance stakeholders to resolve R2R process topics and improve consistency

• Act as a trusted contact point for Finance teams and contribute to governance forums

• Support the development and enhancement of closing processes and R2R practices

What we are looking for

• In - depth experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, or compliance

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and understanding of other GAAP frameworks

• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

• Good understanding of end-to-end finance processes and the value of harmonization

• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to influence, drive change, and navigate priorities effectively

• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach

• Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage
