R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Why this role?
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer with strong expertise in LabVIEW and NI TestStand development. The role will focus on the development, validation, and maintenance of automated test systems for elevator and escalator products across global manufacturing units. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation, hands-on experience in test automation, and a proactive approach to improving production quality and efficiency.
What will you be doing?
- Test Development & Validation :
- Design, develop, and validate automated test sequences based on defined test specifications.
- Implement scalable and modular test architectures using LabVIEW frameworks.
- Test System & Fixture Development
- Collaborate closely with R&D and project teams to design and develop test fixtures and automated test systems.
- Ensure test solutions meet functional, performance, and manufacturing requirements.
- Production Support & Yield Improvement
- Continuously monitor production yield and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive failure analysis and provide timely resolutions for production issues.
- Issue Resolution & Debugging
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by factories and suppliers.
- Support migration and validation of legacy test systems to modern platforms.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Generate reports and dashboards for test data analysis and KPI tracking.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality results and documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work in collaboration with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
- Support deployment and standardization of test processes across sites.
Required Skills:
- Test Automation Expertise
- Strong experience in LabVIEW development .
- Hands-on experience with NI TestStand , including sequence development (parallel/batch), and step types.
- Hardware & Instrumentation
- Experience in integrating hardware using VISA, GPIB, RS-232, TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong knowledge of NI PXI/PXIe systems, DAQmx, and platforms.
- Proficiency in controlling instruments such as DMMs, oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Software & Tools
- Proficiency in source control tools (Git) for version management.
- Familiarity with debugging and migration of legacy systems (LabVIEW/TestStand/VB).
- Analytical Skills
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques such as Six Sigma, Gage R&R, and Cpk analysis.
- Hardware Debugging
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot using instruments like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Certifications
- NI certifications such as CLAD or CTD are highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience in LabVIEW and TestStand-based test system design and development.
- Domain knowledge in elevator/escalator systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with KONE products, processes, or similar industrial environments.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and global teams.
- Willingness to travel as required.
